About
Why blue and green
So much of the strife in the world comes from a dichotomy we impose on it: right versus wrong, us versus them, black versus white. Once everything is sorted into two opposing boxes, conflict starts to look inevitable.
But the world isn't built that way. It's a continuum, closer to a circle than a line. Look at blue and green. We call them different colors, yet there's no point where one stops and the other begins. Blue shades into green, and green carries blue inside it. Some languages don't even split them; one word covers both. Things that look different turn out to be part of the same thing.
That's what Blue and Green World is about: harmony.
It's also about race. Not racism, but race itself: the idea that people come in separate, fixed categories. Like the line between blue and green, those categories were drawn by people, not by nature, and they don't help us. The writing here is one way of looking past them.
